Dreaming of boot-scootin’ in Nashville? Make it a reality with line-dancing lessons at legendary Broadway honky-tonks. Stompin’ Grounds Nashville offers daily classes for all skill levels—solo, couples, or groups. It’s a fun, unforgettable way to connect with Music City and bring home a new dance move (or two).

If you’ve seen a movie set in Nashville, or, really, any place in the South, there’s likely a scene or two where folks are boot-scootin’ across the floor. While there’s sometimes more line dancing in the movies than there is in real life in Music City (in part because dance floors are often crowded), you can fulfill all your two-stepping dreams when you come to Nashville.

Before you hit the dance floor to try a kick ball change on your own, it’s best to get some instruction on how to execute all the right moves. Stompin’ Grounds Nashville is the go-to for line-dancing intel on Lower Broadway. Tessa and Dustin Sturm offer line-dancing classes at three different honky-tonks in downtown Nashville: Bootleggers Inn, Whiskey Bent Saloon and The Stage on Broadway. All three are less than half-a-mile from the Bobby Nashville Hotel.

Stompin’ Grounds offers classes seven days a week. Options include Texas-two-step lessons for couples and a private line-dancing class if you are traveling with a family or friend group. Traveling solo? Join one of the group classes and make new friends faster than you can do a rock step. What could be a better way to make new friends than grapevining with a stranger?

Not only will you learn the moves needed to have a night on the town, impressing friends and strangers, but you’ll get a video of yourself and your class. You can replay it at home to brush up on your footwork before a return trip to Nashville or just play it to entice all of your friends to come back to Music City with you.
